Most of these NPCs were written by Pinya, the rest were written by others. The author of those not written by Pinya are noted like (this) . Pinya gives her thanks to the several people who tossed names at her when she needed them.
The people on this list can be emitted when necessary by the residents of the Tower.. enough of their personality has been included to do so. The only exceptions to this are the NOTE: after one or two of the Accepted and two of the Warders.
Given the number of player characters available, a few changes have been made to the political structure from what is presented in the books. The Ajah Head is a public position, and that woman also sits as the Senior Sitter of her Ajah.
NOTE: NPC Sitters should be @emitted only sparingly in daily RP, and only in a fashion suitable to their position. If an Ajah has a PC Head you should check with her before RPing anything politically significant involving a Sitter. Otherwise check with the Amyrlin.
Eponi is not a great beauty, but she is attractive, and growing up in Mayene learned to make full use of what she has. She has a curious nature and a good sense of humour. She is an altruistic person, and often seeks to help those in need, even if it leaves her own pockets threadbare. Her vices are gambling and men, but she is excessively discreet about both, and the few rumors that circulate about her in the Tower are unsubstantiated. She takes care to avoid embarassing the Tower or her Ajah. Eponi is a junior Sitter for the Blue Ajah. (Deianeira)
Ulrika hails from Andor, but has been in the Tower so long that she has far more loyalty and concern about it than her homeland. Her firm and just principles made her a natural for the Blue. She has great caring and concern for others, but always looks at the big picture, and will sacrifice the concerns of an individual for the benefit of a larger group. She is an original thinker. In casual meetings she comes off as a quiet, even retiring person, but she has great perserverance and can be quite forceful about something if she feels it warranted. Ulrika has been a junior Sitter for some years now. It's rumored that several in her Ajah have nominated her for the Head position the last few times it's come vacant, but she seems to have no desire to be other than what she is. Ulrika is a junior Sitter for the Blue Ajah. (Deianeira)
Lorinde is one of the younger Sitters, and was only elected a year or so ago to represent the Brown Ajah. She may not yet be fully comfortable with the position, which may explain why she has a tendency to follow the majority or be swayed from her original stance. She is an even-tempered woman, and works diligently for her Ajah and the Tower on whatever task she takes up. Her particular field of interest is zoology, most particularly insects, and she has an impressive collection of butterflies from around the world adorning the walls of her rooms. Lorinde has the tall frame and blonde hair often found in Kandor, the land of her birth, but has dark brown eyes. (Deianeira)
Chonna was born of common stock, to farmers in Ghealdan, and tends to be an argumentative and contrary person. Since coming to the Tower she has adopted the view that the Aes Sedai are the true nobility of the world, and she is more snobbish about that than most. She's adopted airs and graces suitable to suit this attitude, including a passion for hunting in the noble style. Her field of study is history, and she far prefers theorizing about events of the past to dealing with problems in the present. Sometimes she disrupts the Hall with tangents into historical parallels, at other times she sits quietly with seemingly no interest in the current subject. This is her second term as junior Sitter for the Brown Ajah, and she campaigned avidly to be reelected. A few of the Sitters cynically believe she is far more concerned with the prestige the position lends her than the business that it is the Hall's duty to take care of. (Deianeira)
Nobly born in Arafel, Beah has the pale skin and large dark eyes common to those people. She also has an attentive, empathetic air that makes her a natural confidente to many. She is extremely perceptive about people and human nature, and an excellent negotiator, but is an indifferent scholar. She cares little for theory and experimentation - her attitude is use what you already know works. This attitude occasionally puts her at odds with other Sedai, but she is almost always able to diffuse the situation and suffer no permanent political damage. She enjoys whittling as a hobby, and freely gives her creations to any children she encounters. Beah is a junior Sitter for the Gray Ajah. (Deianeira)
Kelaris grew up in a family of impoverished fishermen living on Toman Head, which may be why she's so thin. Taller than the average woman, her height only accentuates her slight frame. She's agile, however, and enjoys physical activity, often taking long walks through the Ogier Grove or outside the city walls. She was elected to the position of junior Sitter for the Gray Ajah only recently, and is one of the younger Sitters. Her personality is quiet and reserved. It's not that she has nothing to say or few opinions, rather she is the type of person who believes it is best to carefully think before speaking, and to research and explore a situation thoroughly before deciding what action to take. (Deianeira)
Aloisa has the olive skin and dark hair and eyes common to Altarans, and looks like a pretty farmwife. She gossips like one, too, although she rarely makes the mistake of revealing something better kept within the Hall or among Aes Sedai. So talkative is she that she must often be cut short in Hall meetings lest they go on all night. She seeks harmony in any group she's a part of, and it is not unknown for her to argue the position of the majority to those who disagree, even if it is not the position she herself would prefer to adopt. She is a doer more than a thinker, so tends to support a platform of action. Most Whites and some Browns care little for her, as she has little interest in abstract theories or technical subjects. She's fairly young, and is cheap enough with money that this is occasionally the subject of jokes or smart remarks. Aloisa is a junior Sitter for the Green Ajah. (Deianeira)
A willowy frame and copper skin tone immediately mark Jiaki's heritage as Domani. She thinks she has a great sense of humor, and was quite known for playing mischievious, even mean pranks as a Novice. Of course that is less seemly for an Aes Sedai, so now she uses her sharp tongue and barbed remarks, instead. One of her more striking failings is that she is far better at dishing it out than taking it, and witty remarks at her expense often awake her explosive temper. A junior Sitter for the Green, Jiaki is on the younger end of the Sitters, and is an active person who enjoys horse riding and archery. (Deianeira)
Owena has the dark skin of a Tairen, but after many decades in the Shawl is completely comfortable with the life and abilities of an Aes Sedai that her countrymen disdain. She has a friendly nature, but does not let that stand in the way of what must be done. A very active teacher before becoming a junior Sitter for the Red Ajah a few years back, Owena is fondly remembered by many of her students. The Mistress of Novices encouraged her to work with Novices more than Accepted, probably because Owena is far more comfortable learning and relating established facts than she is exploring new theories. (Deianeira)
Netti has the blonde hair and pouty lips common to Taraboners, but does not seem to have adopted her homeland's love for everchanging fashions. She has her clothes made in the style popular in her youth (over 100 years ago), and still wears the thin veil across the bottom half of her face. She is just as conservative mentally. Very uncomfortable with change, she tends to adopt the position that is closest to the status quo and the way things are now. Her personality is at times overbearing, and her loyalty to the traditions and laws of the White Tower is absolute. She tends to be a pessimistic person, generally expecting the worst possible outcome in any situation. It surprises some to learn that she is a skilled musician, both on the guitar and the flute, but if asked she will readily explain that music is governed by its own laws and exactitudes. Naturally she prefers traditional songs over those newly written. Netti is a junior Sitter for the Red Ajah. (Deianeira)
Born to a noble family in Illian, Darra has been at the Tower so long that she has lost all trace of accent. Her hair sports as much white as it does black, further proclaiming her age. Her logical and analytical abilities are renowned even within the White. She is an excellent problem solver, both at puzzles and mathematical problems and at problems of a more general nature. Her praticality is a little unusual for a White, but more unusual still is her warm and imaginative nature, which she does not constantly seek to suppress and hide. Darra is a junior Sitter for the White Ajah. (Deianeira)
Sadye is the daughter of a High Lord of Tear, and never forgets that, though the man himself is many years in the grave. While she takes great prestige from being an Aes Sedai and a junior Sitter for the White Ajah, the attitudes about the superiority of nobles to commoners ingrained in her youth have not eroded one jot, and many Aes Sedai from less lofty origins consider her a tremendous snob. Her personality seems reserved to most, but she occasionally displays a sharp wit. She has an analytical mind, and much prefers to concentrate on principles and theories than deal with the inconsistency and spontenaneity of human relationships. (Deianeira)
Vaisha grew up in an inn in Tar Valon, and in her youth met people from around the world, and learned to be accepting of cultural variation. She is an exceptionally charismatic person - it is a rare occasion that someone takes a dislike to Vaisha's warm manner. By nature she is optimistic. She does not turn a blind eye to trouble situations, but is always confident they can be resolved. She enjoys spending time outdoors, and in particular, fishing. She has shocked the cooks on more than one occasion by bringing in her catch to cook and clean it for herself. She has served has Head of the Yellow Ajah for several years now, and worn the Shawl for some time, though she is far from old. (Deianeira)
Thori was born to Andoran shopkeepers, the youngest, quietest child of a large and rambunctious family. She shouldered the burden of the least enjoyable chores in the shop, and transferred her diligent manner to her work at the Tower. She is conscientious in pursuit of any task she takes up, and takes great pains to always meet any obligation she assumes. Painstaking and thorough in both Healing and her work in the Hall, she is most comfortable adopting a course that is tried and true. Thori is extremely loyal to her Ajah and the Tower as a whole. She is one of the younger Sitters, but is serving her second term, and for years before that worked as assistant to the Ajah Head. Thori is a junior Sitter for the Yellow Ajah. (Deianeira)
Caryl grew up in a small town in Murandy. Hers is not a face or manner to stand out in a crowd. She is friendly but not particularly out-going, courteous but without the ostentatious manners of a courtier, intelligent but lacking the flamboyance or conceit that often accompanies genius. Above all she is modest, but her abilities draw attention to her the more one gets to know her. The factors that drew her to the Yellow were a sensitive and kind nature combined with an exceptional gift in the Healing arts. The talents that brought her to the attention of those in her Ajah were a skill at mediation to rival a Gray and a deep understanding and devotion to the importance and meaning of an Ajah often overlooked or discounted by other Aes Sedai. Caryl is a junior Sitter for the Yellow Ajah. (Deianeira)
Just like a Blue, she goes out wandering around, meddling in affairs that don't concern her. However, she's very good at bringing back novices for the Tower, and she doesn't usually get into too much trouble. Of course, it's said that the Queen of Saldaea doesn't really want her back for a while, which might explain why she's in the Tower, teaching about the current socio-political climate. Ellia is bonded to Emrys.
The estimable Amaryl is by rights the High Seat of a minor Ghealdanin house, yet she affects the arrogance of a queen with armies at her back. Never seen without her full and impressive collection of sapphires and blue jades, she is not very liked by anyone, inside or outside her own Ajah. The novices fear her and her lectures on the science of politics and the four theories of governance are among the most demanding the Tower has to offer. Amaryl has served two lengthy tenures as a Sitter for the Blue, but she now devotes herself to her two-volume treatise on the monarchy of Ghealdan. Some suspect that she was required to forfeit her seat. (Perseinde)
An extreme rarity among Aes Sedai, Belonde married her warder, a Cairhienin named Armanes, and together they have raised three children, only of one whom still resides in Tar Valon. Belonde's passion is the rights of the poor, and she frequently makes secret visits to Tear to rally the people against the unjust rule of the High Lords. She also bears a lengthy scar across her flank from when a Tairen armsman managed to loose a crossbow quarrel at in an attempt to arrest her for channeling "illegally" in that country. (Perseinde)
A plump, merry Illianer, Dianys speaks with the typical sing-song accent of her countrywomen. By all accounts a brilliant woman, Dianys has spent practically no time in the Tower after her raising. It is believed that the shrewd competent Dianys is the Hall's finest operative when it comes to bending the ears of recalcitrant rulers. Still, she is not a woman without her quirks. She flatly refuses to set foot on a ship, and even has great difficulty crossing rivers. Her warder is a wiry Tarabonner named Tajif. (Perseinde)
One of the finest Healers in the Tower, Doreine is a tall dignified Andoran, with tranquil set of blue eyes, and flaxen hair she styles into to long plaits. Doreine has taken to the pursuit of cataloguing the various human bodily systems together with several Yellows, and diagramming them to fine degree through her ability with paints. Doreine is seldom seen outside the company of her secretary Susain, much to the annoyance of her warder, Lovaenes. (Perseinde)
Plain and motherly, but with a quicksilver temper, Iomaelle is one of the most respected Blues in the Tower, largely because she is a skilled peace-maker, with friends and allies in every Ajah. Iomaelle once served as an advisor to the Panarch of Tarabon, whom she regarded as a daughter of sorts. Iomaelle is currently in seclusion, still reeling from the sudden death of her warder, Mandryn. (Perseinde)
A slim, lovely Arafellin, Galenni dotes upon her four horses like a mother would her children. Galenni is considered quite strong and capable, and is one of the few Aes Sedai to have much skill working with metals. Galenni became quite content and popular in her home village when she discovered as a wilder that she could sense rich ore deposits in the nearby hills. Only a chance visit by a party of Yellows en route to see to a recurring plague put her in mind of coming to the Tower. She is bonded to Alliser, a handsome Andoran, some speculate of royal blood. (Perseinde)
Dark and sour, with glassy eyes and mean temperament, Moranta is a Tairen Blue, originally from the Maule, and she is a relatively junior Blue, recently raised in the past few years. Her ability in the One Power was just barely above the threshold that would have required her dismissal, but for her abilities to work with Fire. Unusual for most Aes Sedai, she is weak in Air and Water, but amazingly adept with Fire, and devotes much of her time to studying novel and unusual weaves with Fire. (Perseinde)
Tall, and handsome, Marinae bears a livid hanging scar upon her slim throat, the remnant of her abortive hanging in her native Bellon, Amadicia, when she was a young woman, suspected of being too handy with herbs. A man whose sister she once saved from the White Fever cut her down as soon as it was safe to do so, and through some miracle she did survive. They fled to Tar Valon, and upon her raising to the shawl, she bonded that man, Cevin, as her warder. (Perseinde)
An extremely senior Blue of Domani heritage, Osmad keeps her figure as trim and fit as an woman a fourth her age, and she tends to her complexion with an astounding array of unguents and creams. In truth, the only sign of her great age is her silver, shining hair, which she wears loose and flowing. Osmad was once seriously considered for the Seat, but she waved off the notion, and proceeded to leave Tar Valon without tidings for fifteen years, returning with a handsome young warder, and several ter'angreal she claimed to have found in a small village in the Carallain Grass. (Perseinde)
Dry and formal, Shimazu is Kandori with the height and coloring that suggests. The daughter of an innkeeper, she prides herself upon her organizational abilities, and thinks she could manage a sizable inn herself, were she not an Aes Sedai. The Hall often takes advantage of her skills, deploying her on several missions to attend to the needs of refugees. Shimazu is bonded to Kuril, a lord's son from Saldaea. (Perseinde)
Exotic and mysterious, Surin din Corai Three Pearls is originally from the Sea Folk, and she often scandalizes her fellow sisters by sunning herself in the gardens, after doffing her blouse. Surin is known for her fabulous singing voice. Each year, she takes a ship down the Erinin to spend time in Mayene, and be near her beloved ocean. (Perseinde)
It is often said that Valisia should have chosen Green, for her belligerent manner and rambunctious lifestyle, not to mention she herself has openly pined for more than one warder. Valisia is Saldaean and is rumored to have an amazingly vast personal network of agents. Valisia is a skilled player of stones, and fancies herself the equal of any general. She likes to spend her free time riding her monstrous battle-trained stallion in the countryside near Tar Valon. She is bonded to Brahim, a Domani who seems inured to her temper. (Perseinde)
Rhea is one of the oldest of the Aes Sedai at the Tower, although no one seems to know (or perhaps will not reveal) her true age. She's not particularly unkind, but is very demanding. The Novices don't always like her - she's too sharp, and demands too much, though when they've succeeded, they find that she can praise as well as criticize. Rumor has it that she was approached to be Amyrlin and suggested Deianeira as a younger, more vibrant alternative. One of her favorite sayings is that good tools shouldn't stand idle, and strong Aes Sedai make good tools. Rhea is a Brown Sister bonded to Vhoen.
A most unusual Brown, everyone expected Esmerelda to go into the Blues, it was quite a surprise when she asked for Brown. Tairen she is, and they say her family held a lovely funeral for her when she entered the Tower, and hasn't spoken to her since. Her passion is political history, although she's very good at Daes Dae'mar. She's cool to the novices, though... doesn't care about them, as long as they're quiet and out from underfoot. She'll get into an animated discussion, even with novices, if anyone who's well spoken and bright approaches her on her subject. Esmerelda is bonded to Jarek.
A Brown sister who fully lives up to the stereotype of the Ajah... she is absent-minded and flighty with the best of them. She is newly raised and hasn't found a warder yet, so her many book-ish tasks are mostly performed by the Novices - scribing, carrying, reading aloud and many other little tasks. She is kind though, and soft-spoken, so she is actually a favorite among the Novices as she is a slight reprieve from the usual rough task-mistresses here. She is lovely, if it weren't for the Sea-Folk spectacles over her green eyes and the wisps of wild yellow hair framing her perfect features - but she hardly notices such things. Such is the life of a Brown. (Rykiele)
She's a Green with four Warders, and she is a Domani for sure - acts and dresses like one, and those golden brown eyes of hers could melt any man's heart. Better be careful around her though, she is a prickly one, worse than Pinya. They say one poor Novice tried to jump out of a window to escape after a few lessons with Haliya. Haliya is bonded to Brion, Pauk, Kazandar, and Rathmoor. (Angharad)
A Green with three Warders, Shariana rarely spends much time at the Tower. Rather young looking, she just returned from the Kandor border. Fiery in nature, she's not harsh with the students, she just expects them to do their best. She lectures on Shadowspawn, and is an outspoken proponent of the idea that Novices should learn how to defend themselves. She acts like she just came back from the Blight, too, always jumping at shadows, and looking like she's ready to fight or flee at a moment's notice. Shariana is bonded to Calum, Sailen, and Tildan.
A most unusual Gray Sedai, Rachina is a tiny little thing, with bright red hair and more energy than any two normal people. Always in motion, she is, with her hands going at top speed while she talks. She's cheerful, though, and can relax anyone around her, get them laughing and talking before they even know what's about. She only teaches one class, occasionally, and that's one even the servants listen to, on using humor to defuse situations. She's occasionally heard to lament that more Aes Sedai need humor in their lives. Of course, Novices behave for her... it's just not worth the embarrassment of being the butt of a practical joke when they don't. Rachina is bonded to Chevron.
Gray Sedai to the core, Ygwena is a stickler for clarity of words; always insisting on the proper words to convey meaning, understanding of implication and emotional overtones. She also uses words to manipulate.. many are the ambassadors who left the table feeling as if they got the best of everything. She's also fair, any novice who gets into trouble will get a complete hearing before she'll pass judgment. Many people were surprised when she didn't make Mistress of Novices, although it's understood that she helps her, and that there's no animosity there. Ygwena is bonded to Carabas.
Sabrah's brown hair is lightly streaked with white. Some of her manner might be attributed to a youth as the only woman in a family of Shienaran warriors. She is a very matter-of-fact person, often blunt and occasionally out-right insensitive. She prefers to deal with practical matters rather than theory and philosophy. Her one flight of fancy is in the study of wines, and her position in the Tower has allowed her to become one of the foremost connoisseurs of vintages in the world. Sabrah was the Head of the Red Ajah until Saban 1000, when she stepped down and Siobhan was elected into her place. (Deianeira)
Terwine is Red Ajah, and boy does she like to flaunt that. Can't stand any men, channelers or not. It seems as if she's always bringing back men who can channel to be gentled. She walks around here like she owns the place too, only bowing her head for the Amyrlin herself, and no one else. She ignores the novices completely, unless they do something she doesn't like, and then she's quick enough to turn them over to the Mistress. (Rykiele)
Despite being Red Ajah, she seems almost shy, quiet as a mouse. She was a Wilder, and her block was that she could only channel when she was alone. They say she is strong, and has a nose for finding those men. She doesn't teach a lot, but when she does she is a bit soft on the Novices. (Angharad)
Neither kind nor unkind, Sarah's a bit hard to get to know, even for a White. Her smooth face shows nothing what-so-ever, and she is often found in quiet meditation, in a warm patch of sun. No one is entirely sure when she arrived in the Tower, or even when she became Aes Sedai, she just always seems to have been there. Her voice is smooth and even, almost hypnotic in nature. When she teaches, the class almost always seems to come out dazed, but do rather well in the tests. Sarah is bonded to Sosai.
More White than most, Warrena firmly believes in the control of emotions. She especially frowns on outbursts, and feels that in order to understand logic, one must be logical and in control at all times, especially of oneself. The Mistress of Novices sends the girls to her for lesson whenever they get out of hand, but that seems to be the extent of their interaction, despite Warrena being one of her assistants. The temperature definitely drops a considerable amount whenever one walks into a room with the other. Warrena is bonded to Berrit.
For all that she's been raised not even a decade, one would think that Christa had been a Yellow since the dawn of time. Arrogant she is, and sure of herself. She was left in Caemlyn for a while, to assist Queen Aislynn, but was called back in disgrace when it was found out that she was healing all who came to her, indiscriminately. She doesn't have much in the way of a bedside manner, either, just heals them and leaves, without so much as a kind word. Rumor has it that as a Novice, she was almost addicted to the Power, and came close to burning herself out once or twice. Christa is bonded to Corliss.
The thick swathes of grey streaked through Frannel's dark brown hair attest that she is one of the older Sisters in the Yellow, but all the Tower knows she is more sensitive about the topic of her age than even the average Aes Sedai. It is suspected this is more a desire to avoid memories of the pains she has endured in her long life than any vanity over admitting her years. Frannel has suffered indeed, having lost two Warders in close succession in her years in the Borderlands, and has never bonded since. She has made a specialty of treating those illnesses of the mind that the Power does not touch, working with whatever mundane means she feels will best suit each patient. Usually that means talking with people, and she is renowned for her attentive ear and practical advice. (Deianeira)
A sweet little Yellow, Lowryn is always clucking over everyone like a mother hen. She has lovely black hair, as shiny as onyx, and pale, ice-blue eyes. Lowryn is one of the kindest to the Novices, she doesn't berate them too much, and the Novices love her dearly. Soft spoken and gentle, and a wonder in the arts of Healing, she is one of the few who believe that teaching herbs is a good idea, that the Tower shouldn't always depend on the Power for healing. Lowryn is bonded to Maggrig (Rykiele)
In contrast to many Sisters, Tonia wears few jewels or adornments and favors very simple clothes in warm colors. She wears her light brown hair pulled back with a ribbon at the nape of her neck. Her manner is equally forthright - she is confident but not conceited. She will not hesitate to speak her mind to those who act foolishly, but is always patient and understanding with people in true pain. Although she is not one of the most skilled Yellows at the Tower, she is one of the hardest working, and eagerly takes on any case within her abilities. (Deianeira)
Definitely the most bossy girl possible to ever meet - she has the Aes Sedai gaze down already and her nose sticks straight up in the air. She comes from some noble Saldaean family, and bosses everyone she can, especially the Novices, as if they were all her servants. Lessons with her are a real chore, since everything is always wrong. (Rykiele)
A beautiful girl, with lovely auburn locks and bright green eyes. She's been an Accepted now for 11 years, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight, rumor has it that she has a bit of problems learning as fast as the other girls, but she muddles through somehow. She is sweet, and helps out the Novices whenever she can; although only with their history, hardly ever their channeling. (Rykiele)
Working for Pinya seems to have started giving Graciara a spine - which, according to rumor, is why she was assigned to the former Mistress of Novices at all. For someone who's so throughly into languages, she does stammer quite a lot, and doesn't make herself quite as imposing as she should. Rumor also has it that her unassuming nature is why she hasn't made it to Aes Sedai yet.. She's already all but in the Brown Ajah, and her channeling is certainly good enough. Perhaps it'll happen when she manages to convince all the Novices to stop calling her Gracie. (NOTE: _NOT_ for general play. Graciara is Pinya's puppet.)
Quiet and secrtive Khyrsie is, and a bit sullen too. She was a Novice for a hugely long time, and now has been an Accepted for even longer. Whispers claim that she's strong enough, and trained enough, to make full Aes Sedai, but that she refuses to take the Oath Rod. The Aes Sedai certainly don't spend much time teaching her, and she's rarely allowed to teach more than basic writing. Of course, most of the girls who go into the writing class learn quickly - just so that they can get out of the class again that much faster.
A sweet girl, polite and cheerful, she is one who definitely deserves respect. One of the strongest young women to come through the Tower in an age, she picked up her lessons quickly, and mastered them through while others were still practicing. Not quite an Age of Legends strength, but she'll definitely be an asset to whichever Ajah she picks. She enjoys teaching, too; showing the Novices how to weave precisely, although she gets a bit impatient when they're too slow. Her Illian accent hasn't quite gone all the way away, yet, though and she'll probably have that odd way of speaking for all her life.
Somehow Sorea got through her time as a Novice with her lively and often cheerful mood intact, and for a girl new to the Tower that might inspire some hope. She is almost always smiling and her clear blue eyes are sparkling. A thick golden braid, rosy cheeks and cute little nose adds to her seemingly sweet and innocent appearance, but woe to the Novice who thinks her an easy task master, or the slightest bit silly. Her tongue is sharp, her temper shifting and patience seems to be a virtue she lacks. With those golden locks, she'd get any man she set her sights on, if she didn't have that biting tongue. She's quick, and always in a hurry. Storming in and out, one moment smiling, the next snapping after Novices as if she was a full Sister already. Rumor has it she is the bastard daughter of a well-known Andoran nobleman and commoner. (Angharad)
Having just been made Accepted, Brittany hasn't had quite the chance to make herself as stuck up as many of the others, and probably couldn't pull it off anyway. She laughs a lot, and is still very merry, although she's learned to not get into trouble anymore. Studious when she wants to be, she's a quick learner and has managed to take as many classes as possible.. She's been heard to say that she wants to learn everything anyone wants to teach. Once she's got it in her mind, though, she can't always teach it again, except for legends. (NOTE: _NOT_ for general play. Brittany is Deia's puppet.)
Like most of the Accepted, Kara is neither particularly stuck up, nor particularly nice. She remembers when she was a Novice, and treats the Novices about as she was treated. She's a good teacher, competent in the flows and knowledgeable about the world. Patient, as well... she doesn't put up with foolishness, but she does take the time to explain things to those who honestly don't understand.
The oldest of the Novices, Cilyan is nearly thirty, as has been in the Tower for many years now. After a few years, they managed to identify her block, of only being able to channel when she was not around flowers. It took them a while to discover, since they thought at first that she could only channel in the winter. She's gone through all the lessons, now, even the channeling ones, but until her block's broken, she can't be raised. She's patient, though, and has even been assigned tutoring like an Accepted, while she and the Browns work on the block.
A young little thing, she was discovered right here in Tar Valon, working in a bakery. She's not an inborn, but she's taking right to her lessons, much to the approval of the teachers. She has a ready smile for anyone, and usually finds herself in the kitchen for chores, helping with the baking. She's occasionally heard to comment that she had always hoped to get out of her mother's industry.
Had it not been for her potential and the fact that she does see to her studies, Hazel would probably have been kicked out of the Tower long ago. Having grown up and worked on the streets of Caemlyn has left its marks on her, marks that not even the discipline at the Tower seems able to wash off. And even in a plain white Novice dress she is way to much of a distraction for the Warder trainees with deep hazel eyes, short auburn hair curling softly around a pretty face, a slender but curvaceous body and a warm and inviting smile. She is often called into the Mistress of Novices' office for flirting and going on with the males - both Trainees and Warders. She has a good heart, and is rather sweet, but it's expected that she'll get herself into too much trouble one day. (Angharad)
One of the senior Novices, Kelinda's block is still active and strong, much to the dismay of the Browns. It's a very annoying block, also, given that whenever she's nervous, she can't channel. Unfortunately, as she's from Amadacia, she's nervous around all the Aes Sedai, and can only work with certain Accepted. To the other Novices, she's quietly polite, and always willing to help anyone who's behind.
Gentle and quiet, Lissa has a surprising sense of humor when she's with her friends. The humor manifests in the pranks she sets up on the other Novices, and occasionally on the Accepted and Aes Sedai, while her quiet nature usually keeps her out of much trouble. Disliking arguments, she is one of the first ones to step in when things get bad between other Novices, and tries to find compromises for both parties.
Slightly wild and rather outgoing, Saia's been in the Mistress' office so many times that there's a joke she has a twice-weekly appointment set. Fortunately, all of her trouble has been small, unintentional, and unhurtful, or she would have been kicked out long since. Interested in the current political situations in the world, she frequently seeks out the company of the messengers to the Tower to get news from anywhere she can.
Friendly and genial, Berrit gets on well with all he meets. A large smile dominates his face, which is slightly too mismatched to be called handsome. Assisting the other trainers while he's in the Tower, Berrit frequently gives lessons on general behavior, especially to those trainees new to the Tower. he seems to have a fondness for old legends, and his clear baritone can often be heard across the courtyard on clear nights. Berrit is bonded to Warrena Sedai of the White Ajah and follows the Path of the Star.
Quiet in nature and dark in appearance Brion is usually to be found watching the world around him. He is generally a still person, although occasionally prone to stupidity, and is fairly gentle as a general rule. Brion is bonded to Haliya of the Green Ajah, and follows the Path of the Blade.
Obsessed with words, Carabas fancies himself a poet, much to the dismay of the recipients of his work. He is a quiet, small, unassuming man, with no sense of imposing presence about him at all. He does his best to put those around him at ease, and is rather well versed in the general gossip of whatever area he is in. When he is in the Tower, Carabas teaches appropriate etiquitte to the trainees. Carabas is bonded to Ygwena of the Gray Ajah, and follows the Path of the Tree.
A red-haired Saldaean, Calum is solidly good with a sword, and quick to anger. Hunting Shadowspawn is his passion in life, after growing up on the edge of the Blight showed him what the denizens of the Dark could do to a man. When he's not fighting, he's brooding, and practicing his forms. Calum is bonded to Shariana of the Green Ajah and follows the Path of the Blade.
With his hair pulled back in a tight tail, and his beaky nose standing out, Chevron looks as if his face was carved with a hatchet out of a stone. He stands casually, almost lazily, although his movements and words make it obvious that he sees and hears everything in his vicinity. Instead of imposing, his presence is almost calming, despite the matched swords he wears crossed on his back. Chevron is bonded to Rachina, and follows the Path of the Tree.
Arrogant and full of himself, Corliss spends his time making sure his weapons are up to his high standards of quality, and that he meets those standards, as well. Despite his own high opinion of himself, he is not a braggart, but is instead quiet and watchful, knowing that he's among the best at targeting, whether with his throwing daggers, a sling, or a bow. Corliss is bonded to Christa of the Yellow Ajah, and follows the Path of the Blade.
Something of a fop, Emrys is always well dressed and impeccable. His manners are perfect, and his movements are extravagant, giving belief to his claim that he was raised as nobility in Cairhien. He is able to speak on nearly any subject with intelligence, although not authority, and seems to be aware of most, if not all, nuances of the social and political climate around him. Anyone watching him would be convinced that the longsword by his side was merely for show, as it's rarely drawn for any aside from ceremonial reasons. In the practice yard, though, Emrys gives lie to this opinion with his smooth movements and exquisite concentration. Emrys is bonded to Ellia of the Blue Ajah, and follows the Path of the Star.
Short is the best word to describe Jarek, although stout comes in as a very close second. His bulk is all muscle, though, and while he's not prone to using it, he does not hesitate to demonstrate when needed. He is fiercely protective of Esmerelda, and has reluctantly become well versed in historical politics for her sake. Jarek is bonded to Esmerelda of the Brown Ajah, and follows the Path of the Tree.
Large and dark, Kazandar is obviously of the Sea Folk, although he never speaks of why he left his home and family, or even much of the Sea Folk ways. A large, two-handed axe is his weapon of choice, and he makes an implacable enemy to those who earn his ire. Rumor abounds that when a SeaFolk ship is in port, he will attempt to go see them, and frequently return in a rage afterwards. He has provided the Tower with information regarding common Sea Folk customs and beliefs, but very little else. Kazandar is bonded to Haliya of the Green Ajah, and follows the Path of the Blade.
Average in size, Maggrig isn't anything special to look at, although he's certainly not ugly. His hands are calloused, both from the sword and from his lute-playing, but are gentle nonetheless. His easy-going manner and quick smile make him a favorite with children and adults alike, and his weapons are rarely drawn, although always with him. Maggrig is bonded to Lowryn of the Yellow Ajah, and follows the Path of the Star.
Young and vibrant, it's rumored that Rathmoor jumped at the chance to bond with Haliya, despite her other three warders, for the chance to go out and do something with his learning. Fast and strong, his preferred weapon is a mace, and his strongest subject was his hero, Artur Hawking. Not one for introspection, Rathmoor habitually speaks his mind, bluntly - although politely - with no regard for rank. Rathmoor is bonded to Haliya, of the Green Ajah, and follows the Path of the Blade.
Interested in flora and fauna, Sailen is just as happy in a laboratory or library as he is in the field. Happier, some say, as he is competent with the sword and staff, but doesn't seem to like it. Teaching the Trainees about the various warped plants and animals in the Blight, he seems to enjoy getting reactions from the younger men. Sailen is bonded to Shariana of the Green Ajah, and follows the Path of the Tree.
A tall, lanky, grizzled warder, Sosai is one of the main trainers in the Tower. He is good with the Trainees, and careful, but takes no nonsense from them. He expects fair play, and teaches the beginning students. Sosai is bonded to Sarah of the White Ajah, and follows the Path of the Blade. (NOTE: Sosai is not available for emits, as he is a puppet used by the Tower in training exercises.)
Thoughtful, but not brooding, Pauk is well versed in many subjects, but especially that of history and warfare. He is rather talented with many weapons, but seems to mostly prefer the greatsword strapped to his back. Tall and rather thin, his face is handsome with its brown beard and dark eyes. He spends his free time sketching, and has many pictures of the lands he's been in. Pauk is bonded to Haliya of the Green Ajah, and follows the Path of the Star.
A solid man, Tildan seems to be ready for just about anything, simply by being there. He is equally at home in the wilds of the land, or the common room of an Inn, although his bulk makes it clear he prefers the Inn. Despite his size, he's fast, and very strong. His broad face, with melting brown eyes, makes people under-estimate his intelligence, which suits him fine most of the time. Tildan is bonded to Shariana of the Green Ajah, and follows the Path of the Tree.
A short, stocky warder, Vhoen is half-brother to Sosai, and another trainer in the Tower. As he is a bit rougher with the Trainees, he teaches the middle students, and trains them in slightly less fair means of fighting. A veteran of several wars, Vhoen doesn't take what he calls lip from any of the trainees, and is quick to teach them a lesson should they forget their place. Vhoen is bonded to Rhea of the Blue Ajah, and follows the Path of the Blade. (NOTE: Vhoen is not available for emits, as he is a puppet used by the Tower in training exercises.)
When not studying or practicing, Anton is in the kitchen, badgering the cooks to show him how to perform their jobs. Fond of food, he works hard to keep in shape. Jokingly, he says that he wants to be bonded to a traveling Sedai, but he'll not go without a decent meal if he can help it. Others say that he wants to travel to get more recipes. Despite this occupation, he's average enough with his sword, and a little quicker than most about his studies. Anton settled into studies in the Path of the Tree within a few weeks of earning the rank of Proven.
He's a warder trainee who makes up for what he lacks in physical power with agility and mental prowess. Brexen has been at the Tower for slightly over a year, and spends almost all of his free time in the library. He shows no interest in the young ladies, though. A shy young man, he's good with the bow but doesn't brag about it. Brexen wavered between the Path of the Star and the Path of the Tree for a time after he became Proven, but in the end chose that of the Star, and has delved eagerly into his studies without once looking back. (Sai-draltech)
Rumors fly that Valten used to be nobility, but he does nothing to either discourage nor encourage them. He says nothing of where he comes from, but his accent and facial and body features show he spent time in the west before coming to the Tower. Since his arrival, he's been friendly with the other Trainees, Novices and Accepted, until his past comes into it. Something has him avoiding speaking of his past for all he's worth and whether its something he did, or something that happened, no one knows, and no one will until he speaks up. He moves with the grace of a Warder, and his sword is a deadly weapon, along with his hands. He was well trained with both the sword and his hands before he came, and the Tower only strengthened that. He realizes he must learn with other weapons, and the other things the Tower has to teach, and is patient in his training. Valten is a natural for the Path of the Blade, and is rumored to have petitioned to study in that path the day after he achieved the rank of Proven. (Sarius)
Average and eminently forgettable, Aduthon easily fades into the background. Both his swordwork and his studies are strictly average, and his brown hair, brown eyes, and utterly normal complexion and structure causes him to blend in with whatever crowd he's in. Others say of him that the only thing unusual about him is his name, and the only thing he does well is disappear.
A bright man of about 30, Devan's originally from Ebou Dar, although he's been around much of the world since he left home at 15. He may not be a good with any weapon, just limited skill with the dagger and sword, but he is good at survival, in both the wilderness and city. He's always willing to joke around, make a quick comment, or just chat, no matter what's he doing. He seems just as relaxed having a cup of tea in the Common Lounge as fighting tooth and nail in a sparring match against other Trainees. (Sarius)
Having grown up constantly being called Florie, Florian reacted about as expected: He became seriously macho. Swaggering instead of walking, bragging instead of talking, and using drinking as a social sport, the trainees would almost seem better off without him. Fortunately, both for the training program and Florian, he backs up his walk and talk with the actions to earn him the reputation of a good fighter, as well as being generally fair. Rumor from the town has it that he's good at other things, as well, with an implication that some of the local fathers don't appreciate his skills.
Short and scrawny, Isander's face is pimply and pinched. He looks as if he'll never amount to much, and anyone who sees him wonders how he got into the Tower - until he picks up a sword. His small body holds a surprising strength, and he flows through his Forms like water over a fall. Unless he's sparring, though, he's deathly clumsy, and his voice is a nasal whine.
Constantly annoying people with jokes, mostly stupid and old, Mar is considered a fair nuisance. Rumor has it, though, that he's very good at Trainee stuff, taking on some of the Warders in sparring matches. His best weapon is the staff, and he's considered a good hand with the dagger and bow, as well. (Jarrue)
A determined young man, from Illian, he's traveled a long way to get to the Tower. Its been his dream, and his only dream, all his life. Now that he's here, he drives to be the best all the time. He always seems like he's out to prove something, always trying to do his best. He's never cocky, and never says anything about his skill with the bow. In fact, he's rather quiet on while in the yard, concentrating on learning. However, when he's not training, he not so quiet. He lacks skill with the sword, not even handling one until he came to the Tower, and most other weapons as well. He's been using a short bow for a long time though, and can use it well. (Sarius)
Trained in Cairhien as a cook for one of the Noble Houses, Gwen came to the Tower after the House took a fall in fortunes. She has a deft, light touch with spices, and a careful hand with pastries. All she wants to do is cook, though, and is said to be very happy with a Mistress of Kitchens who lets her do just that. She's kind to the novices and gives them tastes or special treats when they're helping, but she'll chase them out of her kitchen should they try and sneak in when they shouldn't be there...
Simple Jana knows how to clean floors, and that's what she does. Left on the Tower's doorstep as a teenager, she's been doing the same job now for fifteen years, and hasn't ever complained. Some people say that it's the routine that keeps her going, and that if it were to ever change, she'd be very confused. She has a shy smile for everyone, though, even if she doesn't always know what's going on around her.
After having been in charge of the downstairs cleaning and polishing crew for several years, it's whispered that Jenny expected to be made Mistress of Kitchens, and has a grudge against the current Mistress for getting the position instead. She's high-handed with the other girls who clean, and is bossy to any of the Novices or Accepted who happen to pull her detail. She's polite enough, though, to the Aes Sedai, although the girls laugh sometimes about her impressions in the late night.
Mary started out working her way through learning in the Tower, and despite not knowing how to channel, decided to stay. She helps out in the Library, doing scribing and assisting the students, as well as doing some of the accounts for the Keeper. She's a gentle woman; although she mostly ignores any of the Novices she's not directly helping, she gets on well with the Accepted who were in the same classes as she.
While not the brightest of the kitchen staff, Wenda is by no means the slowest. She has, in fact, an excellent memory - which some say is too good - and even better hearing. Unfortunately for many Sisters, she not only knows who they are, but remembers them as Accepted, and really remembers pranks and trouble from when they were a novice. Ask her about anyone, and she'll give you all the information she has. Of course, she never gossips. (Jarrue)
A bit simpleminded, Chaz works in the stables, and easily seems to make friends with all the animals. He's gentle with them, although he tends to ignore the actual people around him. If he's told what to do, he'll complete it, and usually well, too. But then he'll go right back to messing with his furry friends.
Young and blonde he is, and good looking, too. Has all the girls in the town following him around on his off-days. Makes a good guard, he's big, and obviously strong. Rumor has it that he's sweet on a miller's daughter, and spends his free time hefting sacks around as he helps her father, trying to win his favor. Not interested in being a Warder, he's a peaceful man, really, just trying to make a living for a while.
He was brought to the Tower as a child by his family, because it seemed that he could make just about anything grow. He found he liked it here, despite the Aes Sedai constantly checking him to see if he could channel, and has been taking care of the gardens ever since. He's the one who tends new plants, and the ill ones. Helping out the head groundskeeper, he's often said he doesn't want to be in charge, because he just makes them grow, he doesn't know what looks good together. He's a fairly simple man, content with his plants.
Huge and dark, Shaagar looks like he might have had Sea Folk in him somewhere. He's been seen to lift and hold the edge of a wagon for a while, letting the wagoner change the broken wheel. Gentle as a kitten he is, too, and trusted with the Novices when they need guarding. He follows orders, and is a good person on gate duty, as big as he is, nobody tries to get in who shouldn't. Although he rarely says anything, when he does, you can tell he's not stupid, just quiet.
Small, thin and dark, Zeth arrived from Tear under mysterious circumstances, spoke with the Amyrlin, and remained as a guard. His hands are fast, and his nose is too long, giving him the look of a weasel. He seems to disappear whenever Tarien nobles or any thief-taker arrives, but is always around when anything interesting is happening. He apparently knows almost everything that happens in the Town and Tower.
Almost a wallflower socially, Anita shines when it comes to her studies. Quiet and unassuming, no one is entirely sure why she's at the Tower, except that she's quite bright. Painfully shy, she doesn't talk much about her family, and thus no one knows if she dresses plainly because she wants to, or because she can't afford more. She always seems to be ready to help out when asked, though.
A sweet girl from Shienar, she looks after the Novices wistfully. It's no secret that her family sent her here, hoping that she'd be made an Aes Sedai, but she seems happy enough learning at the Tower. She studies anything she's allowed to about Shadowspawn, and makes it clear that if she can't help the Borderlands with the One Power, she'll help it with whatever knowledge she can bring back.
An Altaran who doesn't want to be in the Tower, and makes no bones about it, Megan makes it clear that she's only there to please her father, who wants her trained and able to marry nobility, preferably in Andor. She tries to play Daes Dae'mar, and is very bad about it, usually angering people. When it comes to a fight, however, she's tough, and has had to have her knives taken away - much to her annoyance.
A commoner's daughter, she was the only girl in a large family. When her mother died, her father sent her to the Tower. She does chores to pay her way, and studies carefully. Nobody's certain if she wants to go into business for herself, or to marry well, but from the way she flirts, it's probably the latter. Rumor has it that she's gotten into trouble a few times with the trainees, and that she's going to find herself tossed out before she finishes her studies.
Olanthe was Head of the Brown Ajah for over a decade, and had worn the Shawl for much longer than that. She was very short and quite overweight, moving ponderously when she moved at all, but her mind was as sharp and quick-witted as her body was slow. Her knowledge was encyclopaedic, particularly in the fields of history and folklore. She had an easy-going manner, and may have been more politically aware than she appeared - she deftly managed to avoid aligning herself with any one group, while managing to offend none. This may be a trick she learned growing up in the middle classes of Cairhien. She had a hobby of knitting, but even after years of it was never particularly good, and those in the Tower gifted with one of her creations are sometimes not able to make out whether they've been given a sweater or a scarf.
