Tales of Ta'veren MUSH Permanently Closed

Tales of Ta'veren MUSH permantly closed its doors on February 25, 2001. The administration would like to thank all of the people who contributed to the game, both in role-play and behind-the-scenes, in its six years of operation and development. An explanation of the reasons for closing is available in an article by Studio H.

Other Wheel of Time Role-Playing Games

The Tales admin recommends two other Wheel of Time games, and is supporting these games by giving them access to Tales resources such as coded systems and information about the Wheel of Time. Cuendillar MUX has been running with its own timeline for several years, under the direction of one of the Tales wizards, and is home to many Tales players.

Tales2: Time of Ta'veren is a new game opened under the direction of several long-time Tales players and admin. Tales2 is taking a fresh approach in terms of policy and administration, but is a continuation of the Tales storyline and history, and Tales characters are welcome. The Future of This Website

The ta-veren.org domain name is being signed over to the Tales2 game (see above). This Website will continue to be available at http://www.fantasyalternative.org, although users of this Website should take note of the following information. URL addresses WILL change. This Website will host four separate types of information, so in addition to the domain name change, there will be directory changes. There may also be page name changes as information is updated and reorganized. The four types of information that will be hosted here are:

The Fantasy Alternative MUSH
Melissa (aka Light and Tabbifli on Tales) is working on an original theme fantasy MUSH, and this Website will host information related to that game.
MUSH (and other MU*) Resources
The MU* resources available on this site (code help, admin tips, role-play guides, etc.) will remain available, and will hopefully be updated and expanded some time in March.
Wheel of Time Resources
The Wheel of Time Resources available on this site (the Wheel of Time Worldbook, WoT links, etc.) will remain available, and will hopefully be updated and expanded some time in March.
Tales of Ta'veren Archives
Archives of Tales of Ta'veren information such as role-playing logs, State of the World pages, etc., will be posted here for the use of those continuing their characters on other games, and those who'd like a walk down memory lane.

The Role-Play page also includes tips for improving and increasing role-play enjoyment, and other helpful information and links related to online role-playing.

More Information About MUSH
The MUSH Information page provides links to information about the basic commands and concepts for the new player. Information on MUSH "etiquette" is also provided.
The MUSH page includes links and resources for the established player, as well, including relevent newsgroups, MUSH lists, resources for coders, and much more.

The Wheel of Time World
Fans of the Wheel of Time will enjoy our Wheel of Time resources. The Wheel of Time page contains more information on this setting and the books that brought it to life. Resources include links to index pages for Internet Wheel of Time material, the Robert Jordan newsgroup, fan art, and much more. Updates on publication information and other news about the books and their author will be posted on this page. The Illustrated Wheel of Time Worldbook provides information on the nations and culture of the game world, lavishly illustrated with fan art.
